FENTON, RAYMOND R., (UNCLE RAY), 90, of Warwick, died Friday, August 30, 2013 after a brief illness. Raymond was the devoted and loving husband of the late Loretta (Piacitelli) Fenton for 53 years. He was born in Providence, a son of the late Timothy E. and Bertha E. (English) Fenton. He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1941and lived in Warwick for 54 years. Raymond was a proud WWII Army veteran. He served in the Glider Infantry of the 101st Airborne and in October, 1944 he was seriously injured and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a Machinist at Taco, Inc. in Cranston for 24 years before retiring and was a communicant of St. Peter's and St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Providence. Raymond was a kind, loving and generous man a true gentleman who was dedicated to his faith. He enjoyed traveling and was a fan of many sports. He especially cherished spending time with his extended family that included his nieces Brenda Ciccarelli, Marilyn McAllister, Cynthia Pastore, Dale Calcione and Lori Caprara. Raymond leaves a sister, Margaret Pinney of Hope Valley, a brother Earl of Greenville, a sister-in-law, Lucille Bramble of Cranston and many more nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Edward, Norman and Ruth Fenton. His funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:45am from the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave. (Rt.44) Greenville, with a service at 10am in St. Peter's & St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 25 Pomona Ave., Providence. Burial with military honors will be in RI Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation Monday 5-7pm.
