Brookland- Travis A. McCamey, 73, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 at St. Bernard's Medical Center.
He was born on September 1, 1939 in Cash to the late Adolph and Lucie McCamey. Travis is a retired truck driver better known as "Poker". He is of the Baptist faith.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Susie Ryan McCamey.
Survivors include three daughters; Pam Easley and her husband Philip of Jonesboro, Jan McCamey and Neville Hill of Granite Bay, CA, Sheila Childers and her husband Scott of Brookland; two sons, Travis McCamey Jr. and his wife Connie of Brookland and Josh A. McCamey and his wife Christina of Paragould; six grandchildren, Shonna Slater and her husband Mikie, Brandy Couch and her husband Brandon and Jordan Childers all of Brookland, Ryan Childers and his wife Lauren of Jonesboro, Beth McCamey and Chloe McCamey of Paragould; six great-grandchildren, Devon, Riley, Kobe, Macy, Kalyn and Noah; two brothers, Dempsey McCamey of Pocahontas and C.B. McCamey of Brookland; three sisters, Fannie Shipman and her husband Herbert, Bonnie Grantham of Brookland, and Shirley Parker and her husband Troy of Story.
Funeral Services will be 2 pm Monday, October 29, 2012 at theGregg Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne McGill and Rev. Jerry Jolly officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland.
Visitation will be Sunday October 28, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
To serve as pallbearers are Dean Boyd, Matt Fletcher, Roger McCamey, Roger Lambert, Zach McCamey, Phil Grantham and Rick Maynard. Honorary pallbearers include Dr. James Robinette, Mike Haney, Herbert Shipman and Jimbo Andrews.
The family request that memorials be given to the American Diabetes Association.
