Leonard "Len" Braunstein, age 86, of South End in Concord, died suddenly of smoke inhalation caused by an accidental kitchen fire on December 4, 2017.
Len is survived by his wife, Mira of 49 years; twin daughters, Alexandra and Andrea, their spouses Michael and David; granddaughters, Leah and Suzanne; his sister, Victoria Shulman; and several nieces and nephews. Len was predeceased by his parents, Bella (Brodinsky) and Charles; five half-siblings; sister, Gloria and her husband Stanley Rosenzweig.
Len was born in Florida and as a child moved to Chicago, Ill. He later moved to Boston, MA and attended BU. He earned his MA in psychology at UNH, and did his post graduate study in Illinois. There he worked at a Child Guidance Clinic. He returned east, working as a clinical psychologist in Boston, MA and Concord, NH. He opened a private practice in Concord, NH and kept it for 15 years until his retirement.
Len enjoyed playing golf, traveling throughout the US and Europe, and spending each summer with his family in Boothbay Harbor, ME. He also enjoyed by-weekly lunches with his fellow psychologists, Warren Fitzgerald and Mike Schneider. He loved good food, bagels and lox being his favorite "snack".
Len dematerialized by way of cremation, his ashes being buried at Blossom Hill cemetery. Rabbi Navshy officiated.
