In memory of
Roland A. Dionne of Manchester, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017, after a period of declining health. He was the son of the late Henry and Fleurette (Chaput) Dionne, born in Manchester on March 20, 1932. He enjoyed 62 years of marriage with his beloved wife Pauline.
Roland was a proud Marine veteran, who honorably served in the Korean War. He owned a lot of small businesses over his lifetime, including West Side Fuel which he owned and operated. He was lastly employed with the Veterans Administration for over 20 years before enjoying retirement.
Roland was an extremely hard worker, and an exceptionally good family man. He was a skilled craftsman who was always very handy, and enjoyed doing renovation projects on his home. He took great pride in achieving his high school diploma as an adult. He loved all sports, especially the Boston Red Sox. He was an avid baseball player throughout high school, and spent many years coaching little league. He will be remembered and cherished for being a great story teller.
He was predeceased by his wife Pauline (Lemaire) Dionne; and his brothers Reginald Dionne, Gilbert Dionne, and Andre Dionne.
He leaves behind his children, Richard Dionne and wife Heather of Manchester; Louise Lavalliere and husband Maurice of Hooksett; Denise Langlois and husband Louis of Manchester; Robert Dionne and wife Rita of Manchester; David Dionne and wife Rosalie of Ft. Myers, FL; grandchildren Shelly, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Olivia and Emily Dionne, Eric Lavalliere and wife Courtney; David Lavalliere; Karryann Langlois; Laura Benjamin and husband Patrick; Michelle Langlois; Edward Dionne and wife Chelsey Violette Dionne; Kim Doyle and husband Michael; Aaron Lawrence; great-grandchildren, Julie, Brooke, Daniel, Samantha, Madeline, Hayden, Logan and Hannah; sister Rena Egan of Manchester, CT; sister-in-law Lorraine Dionne of Manchester; and a nephew and several nieces.
A visitation will be held on Thursday November 2nd from 4-7 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH with a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday November 3rd at 10 AM at St. Raphael Roman Catholic Church, 103 Walker Street, Manchester. He will be laid to rest at Mount Calvary Cemetery immediately following.
