longtime resident of North Olmsted, Ohio passed away peacefully at age 86 on Thursday, January 10, 2019. He was born April 16, 1932 in Strawberry Point, Iowa to Edgar and Leone Tanruther, stepson of Evelyn Tanruther. Bill was a Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War. A graduate of Purdue University (BSEE '60) he spent most of his career as chief electrical engineer and CFO at Osborn Engineering with key projects including electrical design and implementation of lighting at Wrigley Field. Bill lived life to the fullest, enjoying golf, photography, and travel with family George & Marilu Theodore and friends Scott & Karen Jordan, and was an active member of the Cleveland Athletic Club. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Tina (Theodore) Tanruther and four children Karen Green, William Tanruther (Julia Tanruther), Kurt Wick, and Steven Tanruther (Amanda Clark Tanruther). He was the loving grandfather of Nadia Green, Vanessa Green (Joslyn Massey), Kamarah Green, Robert Green, Matthew Wick, and Max Tanruther and four great grandchildren. The family expresses their gratitude to Crossroads Hospice & The Lutheran Home at Concord Reserve for his end of life care.
