William M. Sauers
William M. Sauers, 71, of Millsboro, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017 at Beebe Medical Center. William was born in Reading, Pa., a son of the late Sarah Hickman Sauers. William retired as a plummer with many years of service. He had served in the Delaware National Guard for six years in the Artillery 198 Battalion. He was an avid painter, hunter and computer gamer. He also enjoyed playing his guitar. William is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Sauers of Millsboro; Their children, Teresa Lynn Dukes (Ron) of Millsboro, Lisa Ann Zielinski (Mike) of Seaford; his brothers, Herbert Sauers and Barry Saures (Cindy); his sisters, Bessie Esposito (Nick) and Simeon Houch (Ron); grandchildren, Austin Lee Dukes (Elizabeth) and Aaron Lee Dukes; a great-grandson, Jordan Lee Dukes; special nieces, Ann Marie, JoJo, Lori, Sarah, along with numerous other nieces and nephews; and his dog and companion Kandi. A funeral service will be held at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel, on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 2 p.m. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. The Pastor Bill Nack will officiate. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
