William L. "Bill" Higgs
William L. "Bill" Higgs, 87, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Signature Health. He was born October 30, 1932 in Sebree, KY. Bill worked for Arkla for 28 years and retired from the Vanderburgh County Garage as a foreman. He served in the Army Reserves and was a member of the Rapha Christian Center. Bill was also a member of the Owls and Riverbend Association. Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dolores (Mull) Higgs; daughters, Donna Givens, Vickie Willett, Terrie (Keith) Kelley and Ronda Redd; son, Carl Robert (Kathy) Clem; brothers, Gary Goerges and Bobby Goerges; sister, Roberta Goerges; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his furry friend, Lola. In addition to his parents, Gilbert and May Pearcey Goerges, Bill is preceded in death by his daughter, Carlene Denton; and brother, Henry Georges. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Avenue. A funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 13, 2020 at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Webb and Pastor Joe Turnbloom officiating. Entombment will be at Memorial Park Mausoleum.
