William J. "Billy" Haynes III, age 63, of Quincy, formerly of Abington, died suddenly, Sunday, August 19, 2018, at South Shore Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. William was born in Norwood, raised and educated in Dedham. He was a graduate of Dedham High School, Class of 1974. He had lived in Quincy for the past five years, previously in Abington for twenty years. Billy was employed as a printer at Boston University for eighteen years. Prior to this, he worked for Benjamin Franklin Printing of Boston for many years. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots. Most of all, Billy enjoyed spending time with his best friend and grandson, Christian. Beloved husband for thirty-eight years of Mary P. (O'Grady) Haynes. Devoted father of Meghan F. Haynes of Abington. Cherished Papa of Christian Alan ORegan. Loving son of Mildred L. (Brown) Haynes of North Attleboro and the late William J. Haynes Jr.. Dear brother of Debra Sheedy and her husband Larry of Pittsfield, Paula Cahill and her husband Timothy of Mansfield. Billy is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Thursday, August 23 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation at the funeral home prior to the service from 9-10 a.m. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
