HOLTKAMP William, age 93, passed away peacefully on January 30. While a senior in high school he enlisted in the Army Air Corps Cadet program and upon his honorable discharge enrolled in the University of Cincinnati, earning a Chemical Engineering Degree in 1951. He joined Gulf Oil Corp. in 1951 and retired from Gulf in 1983 as Director of Refinery Processing. Bill was a member of the Boy Scouts for over 30 years, and while living in Cleves formed Boy Scout Troop #200 in the early 1950's. He was a past president of the Cleves Three Rivers Kiwanis Club and a life member of over 50 years of the American Legion Miller-Stockum Post #485. He was commander of the American Legion Post in the years 1966, 1967, 1969 and 1982. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Elaine (nee Kist) Holtkamp and his son David Holtkamp. He is survived by his children Ronald (Bonnie) Holtkamp, Donna (Bob) Coleman, Rose (Doug) Baker, daughter-in-law Nancy Holtkamp, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and lifelong best friend Ray Herzog.
