In memory of
William Earl Pine Jr.
William Earl (Kip) Pine, Jr., passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at his beloved Josephine on the Alabama Gulf Coast. A 34-year resident of Huntsville, Dr. Pine was born in Jackson, Alabama, in 1947. He graduated from Andalusia High School and the University of Alabama where he was member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. In 1970, he graduated from the UAB School of Dentistry. Kip Pine did not live long enough. But in the days he lived, he taught us how to work hard, to think carefully, and to take care of each other. He was a complex and intelligent man who provided a wonderful life for all of us. He enjoyed practicing dentistry – the technical aspects of the dental work, the details of managing a practice, and his patients who came to him for care. He was a life-long learner through extensive reading and continuing education classes in business, math, and forestry. He loved simple things such as spending time with his family in Josephine and Monte Sano, exercising, the library, traveling, playing golf, working in the yard, and watching Alabama football games (but with the radio on, and the TV volume off). In retirement, he especially enjoyed traveling to see his grandchildren, to spend time with them and help out in any way that he could. Kip is survived by his wife of 47 years, Loye Zeanah Pine; his three children, Bill Pine (Julie); David Pine (Joy); Rebekah Pine Parker (Garret); his grandchildren Gavin Pine, Ella Kate Pine, Cece Pine, Storey Pine, Eden Pine, Hattie Jane Parker and Camille Parker (soon to arrive); and his sister, Mary Ann Gray. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Earl Pine, Sr. and Martha Cannady Pine. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Monte Sano United Methodist Church, 601 Monte Sano Blvd., Huntsville Alabama 35801 or the Perdido Beach Volunteer Fire Dept., 8450 Escambia Ave., Perdido Beach, Alabama 36530. As he requested, Kip Pine's ashes will be spread in Perdido Bay, the place in this world that he loved the most. There he will be part of the bay and of our family's lives forever.
