Willard L Emerson
Willard L. Emerson, 85 Tucson AZ. Willard died peacefully in Tucson on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. Willard was born September 27, 1932 in North Platte, NE to Wealtha and Charles Emerson, who preceded him, in death. He is survived by, his wife, Marie L. Emerson (Stearns) and 4 children, Mark Emerson (Judy), Brenda Emerson, Denise Krillenberger (Rick) and RuthAnn Emerson, eleven grandchildren and seventeen great- grandchildren. He is survived also, by his two brothers, Leroy Emerson, Delbert Emerson and his sister, Wynona Emerson. As the eldest of 9 children, Willard became the family patriarch at about age 13, following the death of his father, Charles. Willard served in the U.S. Army until the calling from God, to become a minister. During his home study, he became an ordained minister, for The Church of the Nazarene for over 30 years, while he and Marie raised their family. Willard enjoyed the outdoors, golfing, hunting, fishing and camping. Willard also enjoyed music and playing his guitar and trumpet. Willard and Marie moved to Tucson, AZ in 1986, due to some health issues Marie was experiencing. He worked for ServiceMaster and continued his selfless work of volunteer time. He was instrumental in volunteering and arranging transportation of bell ringers for The Salvation Army, during the holiday season. Willard was a true man of God, always wanting to get the word of God out to others. He was a selfless and faithful man who loved to share his faith with others. His life was celebrated on December 23,2017 at his and Marie's home, with family and close friends. He is remembered as being a man of God, devoted husband and loving father, grandfather, son and brother. A military burial ceremony will take place for his family in the near future.
