WANDA GRUDE Wanda Grude, 70 years, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2019, from complications of Myasthenia Gravis. She endured 17 plus years of the disease. She was born in New York City, May 2, 1948. Her dad was an engineer and the family moved every few years. She graduated from high school in Salt Lake City, and from the University of Utah, with a bachelor's degree in economics. Following graduation she moved to the Chicago area and commuted by bus to work in downtown Chicago. She met her husband, John Grude on the same city bus, since he also lived in an apartment near Lake Shore Drive. They were married in Chicago's Lincoln Park at sunrise, September 20. 1969, at 6 a.m., starting a new life together on a new day. Wanda continued her education and received her master's degree in economics from De Paul University in Chicago. John and Wanda relocated to Denver, where she worked at Petro Lewis and later on the Colorado Public Utility Commission Board. She was recognized as one of the ten outstanding economist in Colorado. After 20 years they moved to Las Vegas, where Wanda worked at Nevada Power and was also a member of the Public Utilities Commission. She retired on disability due to Myasthenia Gravis. She is survived by her husband, of 49 years, John Grude. No services are scheduled.
