Walter J. Taylor Jr.
Walter John Taylor, Jr., of Wallingford passed away Monday, September 10, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Irene (Vancky) Taylor. Walter was born in Wallingford October 2, 1924, a son of the late Walter J. Taylor, Sr., and Edna (Dontigny) Taylor, and was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in WWII. Walter worked as an accountant at C N Flagg in Meriden CT until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing at the Wallingford Country Club and spending many happy winters in Florida with his loving wife Irene. He will be remembered by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as a kind, loving and gentle man with a quick wit. In addition to his wife Irene, Walter is survived by his children Deborah Vandale (Mark), Lynn Mullally (John), Kim Begey (Raymond) and Walter Taylor III; his grandchildren Erin Trakas (Justin), Matthew Vandale (Terre), Jonathan Vandale (Casey), Kate DeSimone (David), John Mullally (Maria), Kim Kupfer (Geoff), Jennifer Gaetano (Jonathon), Christine Begey (Rocco), Timothy Begey, Carrie Begey, Lindsey Begey; and thirteen great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Hubert Taylor. Walter's family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., from 10 to 11 a.m. when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Friday at 11:30 a.m. Interment in the State Veterans' Cemetery will be private.
