VLADIMIR A. DREMLYUGA
VLADIMIR A. DREMLYUGA Vladimir A. Dremlyuga, 75, passed away, peacefully and surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Born in Russia he came to the United States in 1975 settling in Massachusetts prior to moving to Jersey City in 1979. He was imprisoned for six years in the former Soviet Union as a dissident for demonstrating against the occupation of Czechoslovakia by Soviet troops. He was released from prison at the request of President Nixon and as a gesture of goodwill by Soviet President Leonid Brezhnev. Vladimir started his own construction company in Jersey City specializing in Historical Preservation, before retiring in 2003. He is survived by his devoted wife Gerlinde Schwarz, brother Anatoly, and only son Alexander Dremlyuga. He will be sadly missed by his close circle of friends. Visitation will be held at McLaughlin Funeral Home on Saturday, May 30, 2015, from 10 to 2 PM. Private cremation will follow.
