Thomas Schneider
Rev. Dr. Thomas Milton Schneider peacefully passed away Sunday (Aug. 26, 2018) surrounded by his loving family. Thomas was born Nov. 11, 1937, in Wichita to Louis F. and Hannah F. (Hancock) Schneider. Tom, along with his wife's support, served as pastor at many different churches over his lifelong career for the United Methodist Church at such places as Leon, University Church in Wichita, Johnson, Sublette, Goodland, Concordia District Superintendent, Hesston and as a staff member at the United Methodist Conference Office. On Aug. 14, 1965, he married Phyllis Anna Romig in Sedalia, Missouri. They recently celebrated their 53rd anniversary; she survives of the home. Other survivors include two sons, Steve and wife Nancy of Sublette and Jon and wife Dedre of Liberal; and three grandchildren, Ashlee, Scott and Casen. He is preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday (Aug. 31, 2018) at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church. A private family burial is scheduled for a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Camp Lakeside in Scott City or Pass the Torch Kansas Area United Methodist Church Foundation Inc.
