Thomas R. Iversen
Thomas R. Iversen passed away on Feb. 15, 2016, at the age of 73. He died of natural causes at his home in Georgetown, Delaware. He was a devoted father to his loving son, William Thomas Iversen. Tom was born in Lansing, Mich., to the late Mary Helen and Randolph Iversen. He is survived by his son William and William's fiancée, Jenny Zimmerman; his former wife, Charmaine Mueller Iversen; and family and friends in Lansing and Georgetown. Tom graduated from Michigan State University in 1966 with degrees in mathematics and electronic engineering. He worked with the Central Intelligence Agency, followed by a career with the National Security Agency. He retired to Georgetown where he enjoyed hiking with the Easy Striders and was also an active member of NARFE. There will be a visitation in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, on Saturday, Feb. 27, from 9 – 11 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Edmond's Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Ave. Rehoboth, DE, at 11:30 a.m. Tom will be laid to rest in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Lansing. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Red Cross, 1800 E. Grand River Ave., Lansing MI 38912.
