Thomas Mitsuji Sunada
Sunada, Thomas Mitsuji Thomas Mitsuji Sunada of La Habra passed away on January 6, 2019, at the age of 86. Born in Hilo, Hawaii on December 21, 1932, he spent his formative years on the Big Island. In 1954 he graduated from the University of Hawaii, with a degree in Business/Accounting. Soon after, he moved to California and began working for the Los Angeles Unified School District. He met Muriel Hirotsu and they married in 1960 and had two children. While working for LAUSD, Tom earned a Masters Degree in School Business Management from Pepperdine University. He then became Supervisor of Student Body Finances for LAUSD and worked in that position until his retirement in 1991. He spent his retirement years enjoying the company of family, fishing, traveling around the world, and participating in the activities of the Orange County Buddhist Church. He is survived by his wife, Muriel, son Mark (Kelly) Sunada, daughter Fay Sunada (Patrick Wagner), sisters Lucille, Dorothy, and Patsy, brothers Ted and Allen, and grandchildren Tyler and Joe. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Orange County Buddhist Church, 909 S. Dale Ave., Anaheim, CA 92804. www.fukuimortuary.com 213-626-0441
