He passed away Dec. 9, 2019, at a health care facility in Willits, California. At a young age, Steve, along with his parents and his older brother, George Jr., relocated to Modesto, California. In his adult life, he lived in several locations until moving to the Mendocino Coast in 1982. He left the coast in 2016 due to a decline in his health. Steve was a chef at many restaurants on the coast and loved cooking for friends and family. He enjoyed traveling and trying different cuisines from around the world. He was an amazing storyteller and always had a joke to share. He had a great sense of humor. During his time on the coast, he volunteered with the Mendocino Booster Club, Footlighters and the Inglenook Grange. He would also sometimes help with the Fred and Barney Show on the local radio. He loved his kids and grandkids immensely; one highlight of his life was having his grandson, Justin, born on his birthday.
