Garske, Silver 6/19/1933 - 8/3/2017 Mattawan Silver Lee Garske, age 84, of Mattawan, formerly of Battle Creek, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017. She was born June 19, 1933 in Kalamazoo, Michigan the daughter of August and Vivian Garske. Silver earned both her Bachelor and Master Degree in Education from Western Michigan University and taught at Harper Creek Schools for 33 years, retiring in 1987. For many years she played fast pitch softball. Silver is survived by a sister Nancy in California, niece Margot Bemer and close friends Jack and Babe Patterson, Pam and Scott Smith, Don and Tommie Clark. She was preceded in death by her companion of many years Betty J. Clark. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with visitation from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Binder Park Zoo. www.henryfuneralhome.org
