Samuel Louis McClain Jr.
CLAYTON – Samuel Louis McClain Jr., 51, of Clayton passed away suddenly Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017. He was born on Aug. 5, 1966 in Dover, to the late Samuel L. McClain Sr. and Marilyn Jackson McClain. Sam graduated from Smyrna High School in 1984 and Delaware Technical Community College in 2008 with an associate's degree in visual communications (advertising design). He is survived by his brother James R. McClain and his wife Erica of Newport News, Va., his sister Tina McClain and fiancée Shawn Bowers of Smyrna, his ex-wife Rena McClain of Dover and his beloved dog Samson. He was employed as a security guard for U.S. Security Associates and as a freelance photographer. Sam loved heavy metal music, Japanese television, sci-fi movies, attending comic book conventions and, most of all, photography. He loved seeing a different view of life through the lens of a camera. Sam was also a key figure in the Delaware pro wrestling scene, working as an amateur promoter and watching as a professional super fan. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, Dec. 9, from 4-6 p.m. at the Bridgeway Restaurant in Smyrna. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chihuahua.RescueMe.org
