Samuel S. Bertolo September 16, 2019 Samuel S. Bertolo, 92, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Monday at his home with his family by his side. Born in Syracuse to the late Angelo and Concetta Bertolo, Sam lived in the Syracuse area most of his life and retired from Allied Chemical where he worked as a mechanic. A veteran of the United States Navy, Mr. Bertolo served his country proudly during WWII. He was predeceased by his first wife, Betty J. (Aegerter) Bertolo in 1995. Sam then met and married his second wife, Barbara (Duncan) Bertolo and moved to Georgia where he worked various jobs before moving back to Syracuse in 2012. Besides his first wife, Sam was predeceased by his second wife, Barbara; siblings, Rose Garofalo, Ann Vecchio, Peter, August, Joseph, and Emanuel Bertolo. Survivors include daughter, Gina Bertolo of Syracuse; sister, Helen Sarno of Syracuse; brother, Arthur Bertolo of Syracuse; several nieces and nephews. Calling hour will be held on Friday, September 20th, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at FARONE & SON Inc Funeral Home, 1500 Park Street.
