Ruthann Weber Salob
Ruthann Weber Salob Yorktown Heights - Ruth Weber Salob, 74, of Yorktown Heights, passed away peacefully in her home after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. She is survived by her husband of nearly 47 years, Sy, daughters Michelle and Meredith, grandchildren Sophia and Danny. Ruth was born in Yonkers, NY to Eva and Morris Weber, who were part of the famous Weber's Bakery, known for their breads during the WWII and post war era. After graduating from Yonkers High School, Ruth earned a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from SUNY New Paltz and a Master's in Education from Lehman College. She worked in the Yonkers Public Schools for 40 years as an elementary teacher and reading specialist, touching the lives of thousands of children, parents and colleagues. Ruth was especially known for her gregarious nature and was a gifted humorist. She never lost her ability to laugh, even when she was in the end stages of her illness. She loved animals and provided a warm and loving home for many furry and feathered friends. Her passion for education, love of life, and never-ending capacity for kindness will be remembered by all whose lives she touched.
