She was an avid poet published in multiple books of poetry, a long time member of the Catholic Daughters of America and a member of many community associations. Over the past 30 years Blossom hand-made hundreds of baby blankets and assembled layettes donated to Pregnancy Aide and Catholic Community Services. She was quite witty and had a good sense of humor to the very end. Blossom always stayed abreast of current events in the political world and was vigilant in warning of trends she saw. Blossom also did a stint as Republican Precinct Committeewoman. This was always interesting in the Hammond household as her ex-husband Mike was the Democratic Precinct Committeeman sparking many a lively debate. A memorial mass will be officiated by Father Bryan Hersey and Father Ron Knudsen at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Church, 2509 Hoyt Avenue, Everett, Washington 98201. A reception will follow immediately after the mass at Matte Hall next to the church. All who knew Blossom are welcome to come and share in this last public celebration of her life.
