Rudolph Rienzo Tappan - Archimete Rodolfo "Rudy" Rienzo passed away at James J. Peters VA Medical Center in the Bronx on January 5, 2019, at the age of 94. Rudy was born to Angiolina Acletina and Domenico Rienzo on April 12, 1924 in Manhattan. He met Pasqualina "Lena" (D'Amico) Rienzo, wife of 61 years, in New York City. They married on June 23, 1951. Together they raised four children, Dominick, Rudy, Richard and Carol Ann. After living in the Bronx for nearly 20 years, the family moved to Spring Valley and later, Monsey. Rudy served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a teletype operator and worked as a concrete mason with the Cement and Concrete Workers Union, Local 20. Jovial, tenacious, and passionate about causes close to his heart, Rudy enjoyed strong black coffee, cooking, gardening, paddleball, handball and listening to Italian singers like Pavarotti. He also enjoyed collecting old things and giving them new life. Rudy shared his humor and zest for life with his grandchildren, Deidre, Patrick, Christopher, Samantha and Jason, and great-grandchild, Avalina. Viewing will be held at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan on Tuesday, January 8th from 2- 6pm. A Mass to celebrate his life will be held at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in Tappan on Wednesday, January 9th at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: James J.
