Ross J. Accardo, 67 Well-known local caterer Ross J. Accardo, 67, who was born in Staten Island, died April 9, 2018. He resided in Concord. Ross belonged to New Dorp Baptist Church. He was best known as the owner and chef of Winters Caterers. Ross most enjoyed seeing the smiles on the faces of his family, friends, and community where he leaves his mark through his passion for food. Ross attended St. Peter's High School, the Culinary Institute of upstate New York, and studied the art of Italian cuisine in Palermo, Italy. When he returned to the United States he became co-owner of the Harbor House in Great Kills. Ross went on to take over Winters Caterers until he retired in 2014. Ross loved to cook and found joy in making others happy through his food. Ross is survived by his sister, Donna Salvo, brother-in-law, Anthony Salvo, and brother, Anthony Accardo. He is loved by his niece and nephews, Christina Farina, Anthony Salvo, Michael Accardo, and Danny Accardo. Ross was predeceased by his parents, Judy and Ross Accardo. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with memorial service at 7:30 p.m. at Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home.
