Ronald S. Fahey Sr.
Ronald S. Fahey, Sr. Retired West Orange deputy police chief and father of six, 83 Ronald S. Fahey, Sr., 83, of West Orange, N.J., passed away on Thursday, Aug.15, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Visiting will be held on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main St. in West Orange from 3 to 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, Aug. 19, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave., West Orange, at 11 a.m. Cremation will be private. Ron was born in Orange, N.J., and was a lifelong resident of West Orange. He retired as a deputy chief of the West Orange Police Department. Ron joined the department in 1963, rising to the rank of deputy chief in 1990. Prior to that, he was a West Orange fireman from 1962 to 1963. Ron proudly served in the Army National Guard as a major. He was a past president and trustee emeritus of the Essex Troop 102nd Battalion, a 1954 West Orange High School graduate, and a member of the West Orange Superior Officers Local No. 25. Ron was the beloved husband of 65 years to Elizabeth Fahey (nee McLoughlin); devoted father of Lorraine Frate, Bernie Fahey, Scott Fahey and his wife, Laura, Diane Reiss and her husband, Chuck, Gail Hasson and her husband, Greg, and the late Ronald S. Fahey Jr.; loving brother of Robert Fahey, Gregory and his wife, Barbara, and the late Richard and Barry Fahey; cherished grandfather of Matthew and Morgan Reiss, Katelyn and Brice Frate, Wyatt and Wallis Hasson, Shannon Fahey, Rande Fahey, Robin Fedorisin, and Cody Fahey, and the great-grandfather of Grace Fedorisin. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron's name are requested to; Tribute Program, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, Tenn. 38148-0142.
