Roland "Peter" Biersteker
Roland (Peter) Biersteker 3/9/1930-8/29/2018 Roland (Peter) Biersteker passed away August 29 at home with his family at the age of 88. Born in Wisconsin March 9, 1930, Peter was one of 13 children. He is survived by his wife JoAnn, his five children, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pete served four years in the US Navy as a Radioman E-3 class. He and JoAnn moved to California in 1955, leaving behind the frozen tundra of Green Bay, Wisc., for the sunny west coast. Pete worked for AT&T for 36 years as a lineman, climbing poles and fixing telephones. Pete was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Loyal Order of Moose and the BPOE of Elks in Auburn. He loved to fish, hunt, golf, play pool, take trips to Reno and drink Budweiser. For 20 years Pete and JoAnn would host their annual Labor Day bash with their family and their extended "Beverly Drive" family. A Celebration of life for Pete will be held at the Auburn Elks Lodge on September 13 at 11 a.m. Donations in his name can be made to The Auburn Elks #1691 for the benefit of the Purple Pig Foundation for children or to a charity of your choice.
