Rev. Dr. Rodger DeLong Harrison Milford, NY - Rodger DeLong Harrison of Milford (Cooperstown), NY, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019. Beloved partner of Dante Nagtalon, dear brother of Richard Harrison, loving cousin of Jane Klein, Susan Wolfe and Brad Parsons, uncle and friend to many. Rev. Dr. Rodger D Harrison was ordained an American Baptist clergy in 1956 at First Baptist Church, Everett, Wa. Pastor of Catalina Baptist Church (Tuscon, AZ) 1957-1964. Served as a pastor to the Foreign students at the Universities of Uppsala and Umea, Sweden. In 1967-1969, Rodger served as a Chaplain to the British and American Embassies in Moscow, USSR. On July 4, 1970, Rev. Troy Perry asked Rodger to start a Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) in Orange County. He was the sixth clergy person to join MCC. Rodger also served as a chaplain at the University of California, Irvine and Long Beach State. In 1980, Rodger worked as an Assistant to the rector at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Laguna Beach. Memorial Service will be held at St. Margaret Episcopal Church(47535 CA-74, Palm Desert, CA 92260) on April 14, 2019 (Sunday) at 12:30pm.
