Robert Joseph "Bob" Kelly, 91, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016. Born in Chicago but a resident of Maryville, TN, he was a member of 1942 Leo High School Championship teams, a member of 1943 National Championship team at Notre Dame, and he attended the Naval Academy in 1945. He played with the Los Angeles Dons from 1947 to 1948 and the Baltimore Colts in 1949. He had a great sense of humor and love of life. He was loved and adored by his family and friends. He is survived by son, Robert B. Kelly and wife, Miki; son, Kevin E. Kelly and wife, Deborah; daughter, Beth A. Kelly; brother, Edward Kelly; sister, Rosemary Morrissey and husband, Edward; five grandchildren; one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mae (Wrede) Kelly; father, U.S. Congressman, Edward Austin Kelly and mother, Rosemay Kelly. The funeral service will be held later this year in Chicago.
