Robert James Ward
Robert James Ward, 56, of Townsend, DE passed away peacefully on October 26, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 24, 1961 in Misawi, Aomori, Japan on the U.S. Air Force Base. Robert was baptized on October 1, 1961. His greatest accomplishments were raising two wonderful daughters, getting to meet his grandson, and building the house they lived in. Robert's interests included watching the Eagles and NASCAR, his love of truck driving, his granddogs Duke and Dakota, spending time with his family, helping others, laughing and ensuring everyone around him was happy. His loved riding his Harley Davidson, listening to music, attending car shows, and his 71' Plymouth Duster. Robert is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Ward Sr. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Robin B. Ward, daughter Ashley and son-in-law Alex Istenes; Kristen Ward and fiance Ryan Brown. He has one grandson, Jackson Alexander Istenes. His mother, Betty Ingersoll Ward and his six siblings: Jack Ward, Joseph Ward, Raymond Ward, Deborah Whitney, Steven Ward and Timothy Ward. The family would like to thank the Helen Graham Center and Christiana Care Hospital for the wonderful care that was provided over the years and to Season's Hospice for his end of life care. A celebration of life ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 5 p.m. at the Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, DE. Visitation will be held from 4-5 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
