In memory of
Richard Proudfit - - Richard Proudfit passed away peacefully on November 21st surrounded by immediate family. Richard, an only child, was born in 1934 in San Luis Obispo, CA, to Lancelot and Loraine Proudfit. In his early years, Richard worked at the Southern Pacific Railroad before graduating from Cal Poly SLO. Richard had a fifty plus year career as a Banker - he began his carrier at Security Pacific Bank in El Centro, CA. Richard and family would later relocate to Pasadena, CA. Richard worked for several independent banks in the Los Angeles area over a 35 year period before retiring to Palm Springs, CA. A common thread throughout Richard's long career was a commitment to integrity and social justice through his personal and professional principals. Richard was respected by all who knew him for his dedication to his family, friends and career - a tireless worker, Richard could always be counted on to do what's right, not just what's easy. He loved his dogs, his Jeep, his Palm Springs life, cooking and a drink of scotch with friends. Richard and Patti's marriage of 57 years was defined by their friendship, experiences and love of family as well as each other. Their time together reflected a lifetime of happiness and dedication to each other and their family. Richard is survived by his daughter Scotti Strockis, Son Blake, daughter-in-law Joely, and his four Grandchildren Mack, Ben, Ellie & Piper and, of course, his best friend and wife Patti.
