Mr. Richard A. "Dick" Lockbaum
Mr. Richard A. "Dick" Lockbaum, 71, of Tick Ridge Road, Waynesboro, died Tuesday morning, August 28, 2018, in his home. Born August 17, 1947 he was raised in Waynesboro by his foster parents, the late Reuben and Mildred Stumbaugh. Mr. Lockbaum was a graduate of the Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1966. He and his wife of over 37 years, Joann (Mackey) Lockbaum, were married October 24, 1980 in Waynesboro. Mr. Lockbaum worked for ATI Landis Machine Company as a leadman for over 47 years, retiring in 2011. Over the years he enjoyed hunting and fishing in various states. He spent much time at his hunting camp in Fulton County with family and friends. He was a member of Waynesboro Fish and Game, Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15, the Eagles Club, Inc., and the Owls Club all in Waynesboro. He was also a Mason at Acacia Lodge #586 of Waynesboro. In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter Christina S. (Lockbaum) Miller and her friend Tracy Hight; three sons, Jeffrey J. Metcalfe and his wife, Tracy, Joseph M. Metcalfe and his wife, Lisa, and Jeremy E. Metcalfe and his wife, Melissa; three grandchildren, Kayla Ore, Ben Metcalfe, and Emily Metcalfe; one step-grandson, Derek Shockey; four great-grandchildren, Dawson Ore, Farrah Ore, Josie Ore, and Landon Metcalfe; one sister, Linda M. Minor; and three brothers, William R. Lockbaum, Joseph E. Lockbaum, and Edward E. Lockbaum; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his foster parents, he was preceded in death by his biological parents, Edward J. and Dorothy B. (McKelvey) Lockbaum. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, August 31, 2018, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Rev. Ronald Cooke officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday evening, in the funeral home.
