Raymond Kallfelz Jr.
Raymond A. Kallfelz, Jr. June 8, 2019 Raymond A. Kallfelz Jr. 90, of Fairmount passed away peacefully on June 8th at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center following a long struggle with Parkinson disease. His loving family was by his side. Ray was a loving Husband, Father, Pa, and Great Grandpa. He began his working career at a young age, starting at Kallfelz Bros. Bakery then at Tip Top Bakery and finally at West Genesee School District where he worked for over 25 years. He married the love of his life Jane Jarvis on October 25, 1952. Ray was a life member of the Fairmount Fire Department serving as the departments Chief from 1969 to1971. He was a past member of the Onondaga County Firemen Association, the Camillus Elks Lodge and the Sandy Pond Sportsmen Club. Ray and Jane loved camping and camped for over 40 years at Rainbow Shores Campgrounds. He loved the Yankees, SU sports and old movies. Ray was predeceased by his parents Raymond Sr. and Ellen (McGrath) Kallfelz, brothers Charles and John, sisters Amelia Hayes and Ellen Sandefur. He was also predeceased by his beloved wife Jane in 2014. He is survived by his son Michael (Karen), daughters Terry Wood, and Mary (Dody) (Ken) Fischmann. Ray is also survived by nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, his sister-in-law Kathleen Whiting and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 11 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Whelan Bros. & Hulchanski Funeral Home, 5854 Belle Isle Road, Syracuse, NY 13209. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 12 at 12:30 PM at Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Drive, Syracuse, NY 13219. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
