Ronald Adkins
Ronald R. Adkins Calumet City Ronald R. Adkins, age 65 of Calumet City, IL, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2005 at his residence unexpectedly. Ron was born September 13, 1939 in Charleston, IL. He lived in Calumet City for 31 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Sharon Adkins of Calumet City, IL; two sons: Chris (Kim) Adkins of Portage IN and Ryan Scott (Kathleen) Adkins of Midlothian, IL; four brothers: Donald Adkins of Washington, David Adkins of Alaska, John Adkins of Peabody, KS, Jim (Belinda) Adkins of Wichita, KS; two sisters: Doris (Morris) Stern of Arcola, IL and Mary Adkins of Valparaiso, IN. He will be sadly missed by his six grandchildren: Kyle, Kaitlyn, Ian, Autumn, Erin and Nicolas; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces; special friend, Frank Jonas; and many other special friends. Preceded in death by his father, Paul Adkins; mother, Dorothy Titus; step-mom, Christine Adkins; brother, Roy Adkins; sister, Patty Adkins. Ron retired after 26 years at Commonwealth Edison elect. Ron was involved with and a Scout Master from 1974 to 1984 of troop 223 Lincoln School of Calumet City. He was co-owner of Sharon's Tole Creation, he enjoyed making and giving toys to the children. He was director of Honor Bound Men's Ministries of River Oaks Community Church, where he had came to know the Lord as his savior and enjoyed serving him dearly. Family and friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, March 18, 2005 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Castle Hill Funeral Home, 248-155th Place, Calumet City, IL. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at River Oaks Community Church, 15304 Greenwood Road, South Holland, IL with Pastor Bob Roche officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Memory Lanes Cemetery, 15200 Lincoln Avenue, Dolton, IL following the service. Memorials may be donated to River Oaks Community Church, South Holland, IL.
