In memory of
Charles Sheils
SHEILS - Charles J., departed this world for greater good and purpose on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at the age of 88. Charlie will join his parents, James J. and Mary (Lovett) Sheils; his siblings, Maureen Sheils Bowler, Noreen F. Sheils, and James P. Sheils, as well as many other family members in heaven. A card game will certainly be part of their reunion, as playing cards was a favorite pastime of his. Charlie is survived by the love of his life, Mary E. Sheils, his wife of 65 years, as well as his brother, Dennis J. Sheils and sister, Margaret R. Sheils Ryan. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews; many of whom had a very special relationship with him. In addition, Charlie had a large extended family in Ireland where he visited often. Charlie was a veteran of the Korean War and served his country proudly. Charlie was one of the founders of Sherwood Securities, an OTC trading company, as well as its first president and CEO. He loved his family and friends and also spent many happy years traveling around the world. Charlie will be remembered as being a trickster who always enjoyed a good laugh. Charlie's faith, quiet strength, kindness, generosity, and leadership will be greatly missed by all. He will be remembered as a great man. A Celebration of Life will take place at a future date. In lieu of cards, flowers, and other remembrances, a donation may be made to the Fr. Solanus Casey Guild 1780 Mt. Elliott, Detroit, Michigan 48207
