Martha A. Schultz
Martha A. Schultz LaGrange - Martha A. Schultz, 79, of LaGrange passed away on May 21, 2021. She was born in Galesburg on December 9, 1941, the daughter of Wilbur and Laura Asplund. She married Michael J. Schultz on April 20, 1968. He preceded her in death on June 22, 1995. Martha is survived by three sons, Michael (Karla) Schultz, Mark (Sonya) Schultz and David (Margaret) Schultz; proud grandmother of Adam, Lindsey, Parker, Clint and Morgan, dear sister of Jim (Wanda) Asplund, and Carolyn (Berk) Johnson, loving aunt of Jim (Susan) Asplund, Amanda (Andrew) Hopson, John (Julie) Asplund, Laura (the late Arnold) Duarte, Jim (Marti) Johnson, Carla (Brian) Price, Sara (Larry) Buenafe and Martha Johnson and friend of many. Martha graduated from ROVA High School in 1960 and Augustana College in 1964. Moving to Chicago she started her career as a Lab Technician. After 54 years at Mt. Sinai Hospital, she retired in 2018 as the Lab Administrator. Martha enjoyed traveling, gardening and most importantly spending time with her grandkids. She was proud of her Swedish heritage and loved visiting with her extended family. She was a devoted member of Grace Lutheran Church in LaGrange for over 50 years and loved singing in the choir. Martha's love and generosity was felt by all those close to her. She will be dearly missed. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 12th in the Oneida Cemetery with luncheon to follow at the Faith Lutheran Church in Wataga.
