Harriet M. DeLaMater
DeLaMater, Harriet M. PITTSTOWN Harriet M. DeLaMater, 75 of Otter Creek Road, died on Saturday, May 8, 2021, after an extended illness, in the safe and loving company of her husband and family. Born in Green Island on October 28, 1945, the daughter of the late William and Harriet Littlejohn Wagner, Harriet was a graduate of Tamarac High School. For the last eight years, she was a child care assistant at the Mechanicville Area Community Center. Previously, she worked for Eddy Day Care of Troy, and a drugstore tech. with Rite Aid of Schaghticoke. She had also operated her own cleaning business for some years. An avid knitter and crocheter, she made blankets among other items for her family and friends. She also loved tending to her flower gardens, and loved traveling with her husband throughout these United States, including Hawaii. Harriet was involved at one time with the 4-H club, the Youth for Christ ministry for young adults, former member of Loudon Community Church and recently the Hoosic Valley Community Church. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Ronald E. DeLaMater; children, Michele Tripp of Rotterdam, Eric (Tammy) DeLaMater of Averill Park and Lisa (Christopher Conway) DeLaMater of Rutland, Vt.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and her two brothers, William L. (Judith) Wagner Jr. of Hudson Falls and James T. (Mary) Wagner of Maine, along with several nieces and nephews and families. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 12:45 p.m. in the Hoosic Valley Community Church, 2024 State Rte. 40, Schaghticoke, with burial to follow in the Saratoga National Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the church service on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Due to pandemic guidelines, wearing of masks and social distancing will be followed. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Capital City Rescue Mission, 259 S. Pearl St., Albany, NY, 12202, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospita in Memphis, Tenn.
