In memory of
KATHY STANBROUGH
Mary Kathryn Stanbrough 1940 - 2021 Mary Kathryn Bose was born on December 5, 1940 in Essex, Iowa to E.W. "Slim" and Mary Bose. Kathy entered into eternal peace on May 2, 2021 in Shenandoah, Iowa. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered. Kathy attended school in Essex and graduated from Essex High School with the Class of 1958. On September 10, 1960 she was united in marriage to Jerry Stanbrough. The couple made their home in Essex, Kathy never left her block that she grew up on. During her working career she worked for Mount Arbor Nurseries and Henry Fields until its closure. Kathy and Jerry then worked at the Essex American Legion as club managers for many years. She also worked at the Earl May Distribution Center until her retirement. Kathy was a member of the Essex Presbyterian Church. Some of her hobbies included camping with family, tending to her large garden, loving on her dogs and cats and spending time with family at various activities. The grand kids were of great help to her and Jerry when tending to the garden. They were very helpful weeding, planting and picking the fruits of their labor. Those welcoming her into heaven were her parents Slim and Mary; husband Jerry, brothers Jackie, Richard, Junior and Bob; and sisters Geri Morrison and Cheryl Bose. Those left to honor her memory include her children Kim Stanbrough, Pat Stanbrough and wife Karen and Dee Davis and husband Rob, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of dear friends. Memorial Graveside Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the Essex Cemetery with Staci L. Shearer officiating. Memorials in Kathy's name may be directed to the Essex Fire and Rescue Department or the Essex Opera House Restoration Project. Remembrances and condolences may be shared with the family at www.hackettlivingston.com . Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home was honored to have been entrusted with the arrangements.

  • An entry in your loved one’s guest book, noting your contribution.
  • A listing in a memorial tree registry, showing that trees were planted in honor of your loved one.

Why Plant Trees?

This memorial tree planting will assist in reforestation, improve forest health and area watersheds, and provide a critical habitat for threatened and endangered wildlife.

By planting memorial trees, you not only honor the life and legacy of your loved one — you also help to preserve our beautiful national forests for generations to come.
