David "Pap" Diomedi
Diomedi, David "Pap" Ypsilanti, MI Age 83, passed away Friday, February 19, 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by family after a brief illness. David was born December 12, 1937 in Mingo Junction, OH, the son of Orin and Inez (Crisante) Diomedi. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force. On July 25, 1964, he married Kathleen Zelenak in Grenada, MS and she survives. David retired from Ford Motor Company in April 2020. He was an avid golfer and a legend in the field of bowling. He will be remembered as a giant in the sport not only for his own personal accomplishments, including bowling his 17th perfect game at the age of 80, but also for his generosity, sharing his skill, wisdom, and humor in an effort to further the sport for others. In addition to his loving wife of 56 years, survivors include: his children, Lisa Geminick (Dan), Gina Diomedi (John Henning), and David Diomedi Jr. (Jen Wroblewski); grandchildren, Chelsey, India, Nate, Aiden, Tom, and Nina; great grandchildren, Ainsley, Colin, and Brielle; siblings, Orin Diomedi Jr., Dianne Wilkerson, and Allen Diomedi; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and numerous friends whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Linda, and sisters Claudette Diomedi and Jeannine Turnbaugh. The family will have a virtual service in his memory 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021. Family and friends can attend via the Stark Funeral Professionals Facebook page.
