In memory of
Priscilla F. (Fisher) Thut
Priscilla Fisher Thut died in her home in Royal Oak, MD, surrounded by her family on February 19, 2021 at the age of 77. She had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just 6 weeks earlier. Priscilla was born in Boston on February 5, 1944 to David Alexander and Jane Spence Fisher and grew up in Storrs, CT. She and her husband, Paul Douglas Thut, moved in next door to one another at the age of 6. They married soon after her graduation from Mount Holyoke College in 1966 and in 1974 settled in Baltimore where they raised three children. Priscilla spent her career as a teacher and administrator at St. Paul's School in Brooklandville. She was active in the Junior League of Baltimore and The Second Presbyterian Church. After retiring to the Eastern Shore, Priscilla enjoyed her active participation in The Talbot Historical Society, The Talbot County Garden Club, The Royal Oak Garden Club, The Harbor Club of the Eastern Shore, Talbot Country Club and the Talbot County Bird Club. She was a Master Gardener and created beautiful gardens around her home and the community. Priscilla and Paul also shared a passion for birding and this pursuit focused their travel over the past decade. Chasing bird migrations, they succeeded in seeing 100 bird species in each of the lower 48 states. Priscilla was very interested in genealogy and had researched her lineage back to the 1530s. She treasured and maintained friendships she made at all stages of her life and these connections and memories brought her much comfort. Priscilla was devoted and loving in her support of her three children and their families; David Thut, his wife Kate and their children Ben and Chad of Dover, NH, Julie O'Donnell, her husband Hugh and their children Jack, Casey and Charlie of Easton, MD, and Andrew Thut, his wife Beth and their children Mallory, Caroline and David of Concord, MA. Her family was her pride and joy. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Spence Fisher, and is survived by his children, Holly Spence Fisher and Todd Gordon Fisher and their families. A small graveside service for immediate family will be held at the Oxford Cemetery. A memorial will be planned for later this summer or fall. Those desiring may make a memorial donation in Priscilla's name to the Maryland Audubon Society at md.audubon.org . To sign the online guestbook, please visit: www.fhnfuneralhome.com
