FURGASON, JR., Loris J Obituary for Loris J Furgason, Jr Loris J. Furgason, Jr. 68, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at his home in Brownwood, Texas. Cremation was chosen and a memorial gathering will be at a later date. Loris J. Furgason, Jr or Jay was born on June 28, 1952 in Colville, WA. to Loris J, SR. and Birttle Furgason. When he was 5 years old, his parents, sister and brother moved to Dallas, Texas. He attended grade school. Then, moved to Garland, TX. Where he completed school and graduated from Garland high school in 1970. Jay joined U.S. Marine Corp on August 24, 1970 and received an honorable discharge on June 12, 1974. When Jay returned he moved to Brownwood, TX. About 1981, to work for Southside Village Apartments. He attended T.S.T.C. in Waco, TX.; graduated with a Bachelor's degree in HVAC Technology and solar energy. He married Wanda Chasteen on September 21, 1983. In 1987, they had a daughter, Jaeleen. Jay started his own business; J's Home Maintenance Service and he retired in 2010. Jay never met a stranger. He will always be remembered as a loving, generous, family man. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 38 years, Wanda Furgason; Children: Jaeleen Furgason of Brownwood, TX.; Cindy Wise & kids- Camden & Benji Wise of Austin, TX.; Stephanie Young of Dallas, TX & kids- Jarrett Strickland & wife Erika & sons , Syre & Sav of Charleston, S.C.; Alyse Oliver & husband Brawnson & kids Dallas & Quinn of Stephenville, TX; Summer Young of Austin, TX; J.L. Chasteen, JR. wife, Mona of Blanket & kids, T.J. Chasteen & Dominique Suentzenich & kids Lilly, Danny, & Axl, of Blanket, TX; Kaeden Chasteen & Shelbi Bell & baby Tripp of Stephenville, TX.; Skylar Chasteen & Sadie Music of Erath County, TX; Jordan Chasteen & Jordan Maxey of South Bend, Indiana; Ashton & husband Brett Quackenbush & baby Holden of College Station, TX; Alissa West of Blanket, TX.; and Carlee West of San Angelo, TX.; Angie Eckstein & Jeff Hobson & kids Jack & Luke Eckstein of Lewisville, TX; and John Chasteen of Beaumont, TX.; Melanie Thompson & kids Kayleigh & Kammy of Houston, TX. His loving mother Birttle Furgason, 90, of Mesquite, TX. And several aunts & uncles; Sisters -Theresa Wood of Mesquite TX., Christine Hankins of Mesquite, TX.; Deborah Furgason of Mesquite, TX.; Ralene Bartlett of Dallas, TX.; Kimberly Stringer of Nevada, TX, ; Brother, David Furgason of Stephenville, TX.; Jay Furgason is preceded in death by his father, Loris J. Furgason, Sr (who served in the U.S. army during WWII) The children that called him 'Uncle Jay': 10 nieces, 8 nephews, 17 great nieces, 10 great nephews, 5 great-grand nieces, 5 great-grand nephews The Furgason family would like to thank kindred home hospice for the special care given to Jay at his home.
