Gordon, Shirley Payne March 19, 1942 - February 16, 2021 Shirley Payne Gordon, lovingly known as "Ma," went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. She was born on March 19, 1942 in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Beauford and Ruth Payne. She loved spending time with her family, working outside and in her flowers, watching the birds, traveling in years past, and spending time with her pups Bella and Tina. She will be remembered for her humble, kind spirit, her "smile and wink," and her love for the "good ol' days." In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Fred H. Gordon, and her daughter, Dawn Gordon. She is survived by her daughter Robin Culler (Eddie); two grandchildren, Melissa Denny (Grayson) and Jessica Culler; and one great-grandchild, Journey Dawn Denny. She is also survived by her siblings Barbara Jessup, Eddie Payne and Rhonda Lackey (Tommy), as well as several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Friday, February 19, 2021 at McCraw Family Cemetery in Lambsburg, VA with Peter Cain, minister, officating.
