Mildred L. Pearson
Mildred Pearson passed away December 8, 2020 in Newport Beach at age 102. She was born August 19, 1918, in Platte Co., MO. Mildred was an operatic first soprano and sang leading roles in Covina High School productions 1933-1936. She was also a fine pianist and accompanied the vocal students of international opera star Madame Beach Yaw also known as "Lark Ellen". Mildred joined Covina Methodist Episcopal Church in 1931. She married Leland Pearson in 1937 and they continued to be active church members. Mildred was choir director at Covina Grace Lutheran Church for 15 years and she taught private piano students in Covina for 75 years. Mildred was predeceased by husband Leland, daughter Judith and son John. She is survived by daughter Mary Ellen Dahm, 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. A graveside service was held at Oakdale Memorial Park in Glendora on Jan. 4, 2021.
