In memory of
JEFFREY MARK QUINLAN
JEFFREY MARK QUINLAN Jeffrey Mark Quinlan, of Las Vegas, passed away January 5, 2021. He was 70 years old. Jeff was born in Ft. Riley, Kansas to Doris Rodgers Quinlan and Orville Bohannon but was later legally adopted and raised by his stepfather, David Quinlan. Both his biological and stepfather were in the military and as a child Jeff traveled to various parts of the world spending time in both Okinawa and Germany. He spent years as a child on the family farm located in both Kansas and Nebraska but spent his high school years in Newberry Michigan where he became, and remained throughout his life, a Michigan Wolverines football fan. He played multiple sports in high school, but baseball was always his favorite. He remained an avid baseball fan, a passion he shared with his son, and the two would often root for the Cubs and the Braves. After High school he got his associates degree in political science at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor Michigan and remained interested in politics throughout his life. At the age of 21, he ventured out to Las Vegas to join his older brother, Steve, where he got his first job in the gaming industry at the Mint Hotel in 1971. In 1979, he moved to the old MGM which, after the fire, became Bally's. He remained at Bally's/Paris for over 30 years before eventually being promoted to shift manager at Planet Hollywood where he worked until his passing. On January 24th, 1981 he married the love of his life Sue Anne Quinlan. They were married for 40 years and raised three children in Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife, Sue Quinlan; daughters, Julie Basham and Crystal Poll; son, Adam Quinlan; and grandchildren, Presley and Emma Perez, and Mckenna and Kylie Poll. Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26 at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123. In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made in Jeffrey's name to the American Cancer Society.
