In memory of
James L. Kinsherf Sr.
James Leo Kinsherf Sr. of Braintree, formerly of South Boston, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was 73. Born in Boston on September 15, 1947, he was raised in Southie and was the son of the late Robert and Catherine (Grafton) Kinsherf. James attended local schools and attended South Boston High School. James worked as a laborer for the Boston Housing Authority. He enjoyed his work and the relationships he built throughout the years. In his retirement, James enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren's extracurricular activities, watching football and playing the horses. An avid reader, James' favorite genres included history, non-fiction and autobiographies. Family was the most important part of James' life. There wasn't anything he would not do for the people he loved. His life lessons are part of his legacy that continues through his family. James will be missed by all the lives he touched. James was the beloved husband of Barbara J. (Ring) Kinsherf. The two married on July 7, 1967 in Gate of Heaven Church in South Boston. Together, they shared 53 loving years of marriage. He was the devoted father of Christine Earle and her spouse Barney of Hanover, James L. Kinsherf, Jr. and his spouse Lauren of MI, William Kinsherf and Lynn Parker of Hingham and Karen Curtis and her spouse Chuck of Mansfield. James was the loving Pa of William Kinsherf, Jr. and his spouse Emma of North Attleboro, Ryan and Casey Earle, both of Hanover, Jake, Jared and Caroline Kinsherf, all of MI, Connor and Justin Curtis, both of Mansfield and Sara Parker of Hingham. James was the dear brother of Carol Fennell of Boston, the late Robert Kinsherf and the late John Kinsherf and his surviving spouse Joan of South Boston. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 4-8 p.m. in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy.
