Barbara MacKellar
MacKellar, Barbara 2/24/1932 - 12/30/2020 Ann Arbor Barbara Joan MacKellar passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on December 30, 2020 in her home following a brief illness. Barbara was born February 24, 1932 in Galesburg, Michigan to Winnefred W. and Elden H. Burgess. Barbara holds degrees in Art Graphics and Art Education from Stephens College and Western Michigan University. As a member of the Chelsea Painters Art Group in Chelsea, Michigan, Barbara was an accomplished abstract water color and mixed media artist. Barbara also was a member of the Ann Arbor Women's Artists Association and the Ann Arbor Art Center. Barbara enjoyed playing golf and also playing cards with her friends from the Tecumseh Women's Golf Association at the Tecumseh Country Club in Tecumseh, Michigan of which she was a member for several years. Barbara is survived by her husband of 62 years, Forrest A. MacKellar, her three sons, Michael, Mark, and David; daughter inlaw Christina; three grandchildren; Branden, Jesse and Cassandra MacKellar of Ann Arbor, Michigan and her sister Brenda Hill of Galesburg, Michigan. Barbara was preceded in death by her youngest sister Judy (Hakes) Nielson. Barbara will be laid to rest with a private service in the near future.
