In memory of
John Boettger
On Jan. 8, 2021, John Boettger passed away at the age of 83 in Southern Pines, North Carolina. He is survived by his wife, Janice; daughter, Judy; and sons, John and Jeff. "Jack" was born to parents Robert and Marie on July 1, 1937, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where he shared his childhood with siblings, Robert and James. After graduating from Lehigh University as a mechanical engineer in 1959, he began a 36-year career with Public Service Electric and Gas. A year later, in 1960, he married Janice and they started their family in Lake Hiawatha, New Jersey. After a successful career as general manager in the Nuclear Power Division, he retired to North Carolina. He became a grandfather to Sarah and Cate; watching his granddaughters grow was the joy of his life. At Pine Knoll, John cared for everyone he touched - he was a good man, a special man, always ready to help. In lieu of services, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity. Powell Funeral Home is serving the Boettger family.
