Mr. BIlly Gordon Woodcock
STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Billy Gordon Woodcock, age 91, died Sunday, January 10, 2021, at St Joseph's/Candler Hospital in Savannah. Billy was born in the Middleground Community and was the son of the late Brooks and Mattie Hendrix Woodcock. He lived the majority of his life in Bulloch County. He was the original owner of Vandy's in the Statesboro Mall. After retirement, Billy volunteered at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore for many years. He was also an avid fisherman and shrimper. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 65 years, Edna Barfield Woodcock; one brother, J.B. Woodcock and one sister, Camilla Boyd. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Robin Woodcock of Savannah; two daughters and one son-in-law, Donna Woodcock of Brooklet and Diane and Remer Cowart of Stilson; one grandson, Zachary (Jordyn) Woodcock of Savannah; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to 7 South healthcare workers at St Joseph's/Candler for the excellent care they provided for their father. A private graveside service will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in Bulloch Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to St Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or Habitat for Humanity of Bulloch County ReStore at www.habitatbulloch.org.
