Virginia G. Michaud
Virginia G. "Ginny" Michaud, 91, dearly beloved mother of Donna Ganley of East Granby and Dennis Michaud of Wethersfield, went to the Lord on Sunday October 13, 2019 at Meadowbrook of Granby. Born in Manchester, NH; one of five children of Charles Lawrence and Ruth Cleaves Lawrence. She lived in CT most of her life, in East Granby since 1972. Virginia was a Cigna retiree, having worked in the legal department as a senior analyst. She attended St. Joseph's College for paralegal studies. A devout Catholic, Virginia was a joyful and active communicant of St. Bernard's Church in Tariffville for 45 years. During which time she was a member of the Ladies Guild, the Church Choir, and the Prayer Shawl group. Virginia started the Seniors Visitation program, co-chaired a weekly Small Christian Community Prayer Group, and devoted time for numerous acts of charity and volunteering. Attended Holy Family retreats for 21 years. "Ginny" was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. She was a lifetime member of the USS Cabot Assoc. Her husband of 48 years, Dick Michaud, passed away in 1994. Besides her children, she is survived by three grandchildren, Mary Hope Ganley of Keene, NH, Kyle Ganley and his wife Cristina of Tewksbury, MA and Rebecca Michaud of Enfield; daughter-in-law Beverly Michaud of Wethersfield; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Ginny's family would like to thank the staff at Meadowbrook of Granby and Athena Hospice for their compassionate care of their mom. Her family will receive friends on Thursday October 17, 2019 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook Street, Granby, CT 06035. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00PM at Carmon's. Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery, 7 Maple Street, Tariffville.
