In memory of
John McGoey
John McGoey, 74 His three loves were 'family, friends and fantasy football' John McGoey passed away at Mount Sinai Hospital on Oct. 6, 2019, after a heart attack and bad fall, right before his 75th birthday. He had three loves in his life: family, friends and fantasy football. His parents, Mary Kay and Thomas; sister, Maureen, and several dear friends, are happy to see him in heaven. He worked as an IBM manager and then enjoyed a second career as a special education teacher. He was happily married to the former Sally Plunket for almost 50 years, and they had a son, John Thomas, whom they both adored. Their son married Lauren Sable, and they presented John with the new loves of his life: Jack, almost 4, and 2-month-old Keira. John's friends were many and wonderful. He told great stories, and no one ever had a bad word to say about him. His brother, Thomas, and countless other friend are sad tonight. Let us hope that the former FDU basketball player has a winning team in his new fantasy league. Visitation will be held at the Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave., SI, on Friday, Oct. 11, from 5 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Stephen Siller Foundation. Casey Funeral Home 350 Slosson Ave. Staten Island, N.Y. 10314 (718) 447-4242
